Over a casual conversation about the ongoing work of Bridging RVA, we learned of one woman’s dream to create a story telling mural on the end wall of the greenhouse at G.H. Reid Elementary in the City of Richmond. This dream began to come true when a group of Bridging RVA volunteers showed up and built an exterior paintable end wall on the greenhouse. Beginning with a “clean canvas,” the magic really started happening when the school’s art teacher, Ms. Hertel, showed up and began painting.
With a little more than one week to go before school starts, the project is almost complete. The children will be greeted by a beautiful and meaningful work of art on their first day. We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to help make it happen. A big shout out for the woman with the dream, Ms. K!
All finished!!
